Statistical analysis of Russia's role in global production and export of sunflower oil

Vegetable oil plays a significant role in food production, cooking and manufacturing. At the same time, sunflower oil prevails in the European region, which is due to favorable cultivation conditions. In this regard, it is of interest to consider the issue of the structure of the global market and the dynamics of production of this product. Accordingly, the purpose of the study is to establish the position of the Russian Federation in the global production of sunflower oil. To solve the problem, such methods of scientific knowledge as: comparison, analysis and synthesis, as well as a number of mathematical and statistical methods were used. As the main results of the statistical study, you can specify the following: according to the results of 2022 and forecasts for the 2023 harvest, the Russian Federation is the world leader in the production and export of vegetable oil; the dynamics of gross collection of sunflower seeds and production of sunflower oil in Russia, have positive dynamics in the interval 1991-2022. And according to forecasts will increase in 2023-2025. Subject to the invariability of the current economic and natural and climatic conditions; the main areas of sunflower oil production in Russia are the subjects included in the Central, Volga and Southern Federal Districts, which is due to the historical aspect of population resettlement, as well as favorable conditions for growing sunflower. The directions for further development of the research topic can be the analysis of factors that affect the production of sunflower oil in the Russian regions, and the construction of an econometric model on this basis.
