Tandem repeat lengths polymorphism in the wild grapevine populations of the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Adygea

The cultivation of grapes has made great strides in the quantity and quality of varieties that exist today. The largest database of Vitis International Variety Catalog (VIVC) includes more than 23 thousand species, varieties and clone forms of grapes. But all this diversity could not exist without the species Vitis silvestris Gmel., from which it originated. The distribution of allele frequencies in the population showed that the Nechaev population included the largest number of various alleles, including private ones. The Daman and Maikop populations showed approximately the same distribution of alleles. These results suggest that hybrid forms may be present in the Nechaev population, which is also partly confirmed by NCBI BLAST species identification. AMOVA and Shannon's informational diversity analyzes showed that most likely all individuals belong to the same species, since the greatest amount of diversity falls on intrapopulation diversity. At the same time, a comparison of the sample using UPGMA and PCoA methods showed that some of the samples are genetically indistinguishable, while others, although identified in a single cluster, have differences between themselves. Thus, this indicates that the three populations selected for study are genetically heterogeneous, although they apparently belong to the species Vitis silvestris Gmel.
