Methodological features of economic assessment of beet harvesting equipment

One of the most energy-intensive elements in the sugar beet cultivation system is harvesting, which is a complex technological process performed by specialized equipment. The author's classification of modern beet harvesting equipment is given, from which it follows that the most technologically advanced today are self-propelled machines that extract the root crop with preliminary cutting off the tops. The importance of a correct comparative economic assessment of various brands of sugar beet harvesters from different manufacturers is proved. A method of comparative technical and economic evaluation of beet harvesting equipment based on the calculation of the total costs per 1 hectare of harvested area, including not only direct operating costs, but also additional costs due to the design features of the compared equipment, is proposed. It is proved that at present it is more profitable for domestic agricultural enterprises to purchase beet harvesters of Belarusian production.
