Effectiveness of immunoprophylactic measures in infectious cattle rhinotracheitis

In cattle in Russia, diseases of the respiratory system are recorded in 20-30% of the livestock of young animals and, in terms of their frequency of occurrence, take second place after diseases of the digestive system. The main etiological significance of respiratory damage in 90% of cases in calves is due to the viral nature, as a result of which pathogens, causing pathological processes in the body, disrupting the functions of organs, create conditions for the penetration and vital activity of bacterial microflora, which often leads to a complication of the course of the disease. Primary sensitivity in the defeat of organs by pathogens of a viral infection is found in a decrease in the activation and detection of the immune system and stimulation of the functions of pathological processes and disorders in the epithelial cells of the respiratory tract. Microorganisms such as salmonella, pasteurella and others can also participate in the infectious process, which aggravates the course of the disease. Mixed forms of pathogens of the respiratory tract are diverse and widespread, in conditions of industrial animal husbandry, with a large crowding of livestock in the place of its detection, the likelihood of mixed forms increases significantly. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of complex vaccination with immunomodulators for calves up to six months of age. The research methods included the determination of hematological parameters, as well as antibodies in the blood serum of animals to determine post-vaccination immunity in time dynamics. In the course of the research, morphological and biochemical changes in the blood of calves infected with rhinotracheitis and after complex immunoprophylaxis were determined. It was found that the titers of antiviral antibodies in animals after immunization with the Hiprabovis Marker vaccine amounted to 3.1 ± 0.08 lоg2, and after complex immunoprophylaxis 6.8 ± 0.18 lоg2, while the effectiveness of Flexoprofen is 1.4 times higher than that of Mixoferon. The effectiveness of the measures taken was at a high level and amounted to 75-85%, with the complete safety of the livestock.
