Problems and prospects of rice growing in the Krasnodar Territory

A forecast was made of the situation in the agricultural market, and that the demand for rice will grow due to domestic rice production against the backdrop of a reduction in import supplies. It is shown that rice is the most demanded of cereals in the Russian Federation. The first rice-growing complex in the Krasnodar Territory is considered. During its design and construction, the best achievements of world and domestic reclamation science and practice were used. The problems that arise in the production of rice are identified: technologically complex production, insufficient volume of high-quality granaries, etc. The dynamics of rice sown areas in the Krasnodar Territory and its reduction at the end of 2021 is shown. The reason is the deterioration of the irrigation systems necessary for rice production. The structure of rice sown areas in the Krasnodar Territory is shown, as a percentage of the total sown area over the past five years. At the same time, the deterioration of the condition of the irrigation systems necessary for rice production and the need for the transformation of irrigation systems were revealed. Studies of the quality of rice production in the Krasnodar Territory have been carried out and it has been revealed that the state of rice-irrigation systems for the cultivation of crops is not satisfactory enough. To do this, it is necessary to carry out an inventory of rice irrigation systems for making management decisions. To do this, the authors proposed the stages of inventory of rice irrigation systems in the Krasnodar Territory.
