Results of using different methods of growing calfs

The article provides data on the results of using various methods of raising calves during the dairy period. It was found that the calves kept in the houses grew more intensively and were less likely to get sick than their peers kept in the cages. The absolute gain for the period in calves of the 2nd group in the first three months was higher than in the 1st group in terms of live weight by 1.1; 2.0 and 2.8 kg; on average daily gains - by 36.6 g (60%); 30.0 g (4.4%) and 26.6 g (3.6%), respectively. They had a higher relative growth rate by an average of 9.3%. The level of profitability of raising calves in an individual house was 3.9% higher in comparison with analogs raised in "net cages".
