Department of plant growing - 100 years of educational and scientific activity

The article describes a brief historical path of the Department of Plant Growing from 1922 - the moment of its creation till 2022 - the year of the 100th anniversary. The milestones of the formation of the department in educational and scientific activities are marked. A brief summary of the teaching staff work on the agricultural specialists training, which was carried out at three levels: bachelor's degree (9 OPOP), master's degree (2 OPOP) and postgraduate studies (1 OPOP). 15 disciplines are taught at 9 full-time faculties and 12 disciplines are taught by correspondence. The research carried out by the Faculty over the past 30 years in the field of crop production and agriculture, on the development of new, environmentally friendly, resource-saving technologies for cultivating crops, methods of preserving and soil fertility reproducing in various agricultural landscapes of the Krasnodar Territory, formed the basis of 15 doctoral and more than 60 PhD dissertations fulfilled and read. Scientific schools with widely recognized directions have grown up here. The improvement of agricultural education and, above all, its components - the educational process and educational activities in the preparation of agricultural specialists - is a continuation of the glorious deeds and traditions of previous generations of the oldest department of the Kuban State Agrarian University.
