Assessment of rural territories land potential in the Krasnodar Territory

The land potential of rural territories in the Krasnodar Territory for the purposes of assessment is considered. The dynamics of changes in the area of agricultural land in comparison with the lands of settlements over the past 10 years is shown. The fact of an annual decrease of the agricultural land area, at the cost of the increase in the area of land settlements and industrial lands, has been revealed. The forecast of changes in the area of agricultural lands of the Krasnodar Territory until 2026 has been compiled. A set of indicators reflecting the rural territories land potential of the Krasnodar Territory is proposed, taking into account the uniqueness and specificity of the territories, which consists of three groups. The first group reflects the specifics of the distribution of the land fund of rural territories by categories, lands (including especially valuable agricultural land). The second group contains indicators of lands soil fertility, which give the idea of the soils qualitative composition and their suitability for agriculture. The third group of indicators reflects the ecological state of agricultural land. In each group, the features of the structure-forming elements, factors that have a significant impact on the formation, assessment and further development of the rural territories land potential of the region are identified. A methodology for assessing land potential with the calculation of an integral indicator has been developed, a rating of rural territories has been made on its basis, the main problems and potential opportunities have been identified.
