The management of the integrated development of rural areas aims not only to improve the quality of life of the rural population, but also to promote the comprehensive economic and social development of the village. As effectiveness conditions for the integrated development of rural areas, one can single out: ensuring the competitiveness of territories, profitability and financial well-being of existing subjects of the rural economy, positive dynamics in the standard of living of citizens. Agricultural production can be singled out as the basic type of activity of the subjects of the rural economy. A rather multifaceted functioning of the countryside necessitates the formation of an extensive instrumental apparatus for its study. Sociological research can be singled out as one of the most versatile applied tools for studying targeted subject areas of rural development. By organizing and conducting a sociological survey, the authors obtained the results of an assessment by the population of the feasibility of forming a database covering the best practices for the integrated development of rural areas. To obtain systematic results, the survey was conducted not only by rural residents, but also by citizens living on the territory of urban-type municipalities. According to the generalized results of the study, respondents recognize the high importance of state and municipal programs in the system of integrated development of rural areas. The vast majority of the citizens surveyed are sure that assistance to the functioning of the transport and social infrastructure can be singled out as priority areas for development. Since the vast majority of respondents note the need for the functioning of information bases that combine the best practices in the development of rural areas, it seems appropriate to form them as one of the tools for such development managing.
