Yield and soft wheat grain quality in demonstration sowing in Kalmykia

In accordance with the purpose of the study, the article presents the study results of winter soft wheat varieties yield and grain quality in the demonstration sowing of the Kalmyk Scientific Research Institute of Agriculture - a branch of the Federal State Budget Scientific Institution "PAFNTS RAS" (Troitskoye village) in the Agroniva Agricultural and Production Complex of the Tselinny District of the Republic of Kalmykia. In 2020-2022 ten varieties of winter soft wheat from three originating institutions were presented. The year of inclusion in the State Register of Breeding Achievements of the Russian Federation of varieties varied from 2002 (Stanichnaya) to 2021 (Style 18 and Hamdan). Demonstration sowing in 2020-2022 were planted in two tiers in 4-fold repetition using a CH-16 seeder. The accounting area of the plot is 50 m2. Sowing was carried out at the optimal time - the third decade of September. Seeding rate - 400 pcs. germinating seeds per 1 m2. The predecessor is black steam. On average, for 3 years in arid conditions of the Republic of Kalmykia, the yield of winter soft wheat varieties amounted to 3.04 t/ha of grain. The maximum yield of 3.48 t/ha was cultivar Style 18. Comparison the average grain yield of winter soft wheat varieties grouped by originating establishments, in the demonstration sowing revealed that the cultivars of the NCG named after P.P. Lukiyanenko, who formed the maximum grain yield in two of the three years of study. Studies have confirmed the formation of varieties of all institutions - originators of high-quality grain with very strong gluten, which meets the requirements of class II for winter soft wheat according to GOST 9353 - 2016. Higher quality indicators were found in varieties of developed by the FSBSI Agricultural Research Center "Donskoy".
