Economic efficiency of beef production in the agricultural organizations of the Krasnodar Territory

The article presents the results of the analysis of economic indicators of beef cattle breeding in the Krasnodar Territory, including livestock and cattle meat production, average daily weight gain of animals, the cost of production and profitability in the agricultural organizations of the region. It was found that the number of cattle in the Krasnodar Territory in the last 15 years declined almost twice dramatically reducing beef production in the region. The research shows the economic benefits of the specialized cattle fattening arrangement in the agricultural organizations over enterprises with a full production cycle. Comparative beef production analysis in leading enterprises of the Krasnodar Territory was carried out in the article and it was found that the basic production and economic performance in this subsector varies significantly, cattle rearing and fattening is carried out with different levels of economic efficiency, many of the livestock producers poorly organizing production process and not fully realizing the potential of the technology used. Using the data grouping method a minimum size of meat breed cattle herds is substantiated in our research allowing agricultural organizations of the Krasnodar Territory to implement cost-effective production of cattle meat. In addition using the data grouping method shows the dependence of production and economic performance of beef cattle on the level of livestock pastures provision. It is established that the average pastures availability for beef cattle breeds in the agricultural organizations of the Krasnodar Territory is at a low level that does not allow many producers to fully exploit the potential of the grazing resource-saving technology of specialized meat cattle breeding.
