The use of unconventional feed additives in sheep feeding in Yakutia

The aim of the research was to study the growth, development and meat productivity of sheep with the inclusion of local non-traditional feed additives in their diets in the conditions of Yakutia. In the course of the research, the following tasks were solved: to study the change in the live weight of sheep when feeding feed additives, to study the clinical and physiological parameters of organism. The scientific experience in raising sheep was organized on 3 groups of Buubey sheep, formed by the method of analogs of 15 heads. The studies were carried out according to generally accepted methods. In the scientific experience, the effectiveness of different norms for the inclusion of sapropel, hongurin and Kempendyai salt in feeding sheep was studied. When compared with the data of the control group, the animals of the experimental groups had a higher live weight (by 3.73 and 0.88%), more carcass weight was obtained, 9.13 and 5.72%. Analysis of the control slaughter data showed that the control group yielded to the experimental groups in carcass weight 9.13 and 5.72%. Chemical analysis of meat showed that the experimental groups had a high fat content by 0.66 and 0.63%, protein by 0.44 and 0.40%, and ash by 0.07 and 0.04%. Evaluation of meat products showed that the samples of meat from the experimental groups had high scores for tenderness, juiciness, taste and aroma. Thus, the use of non-traditional feed additives from local natural raw materials in sheep feeding contributed to an increase in meat productivity in Yakutia.
