Primary analysis of the whole-genome sequencing results of Lactobacillus probiotic strains

The primary results of the analysis of data obtained by reading the complete genomes of new probiotic strains of the genus Lactobacillus isolated from the gastrointestinal tract of the wild Caucasian pheasant (Phasianus colchicus) are presented. The strains were isolated from stations in southern Russia as a result of expeditions. The studies were conducted on the basis of the Department of Biotechnology, Biochemistry and Biophysics of the Kuban State Agrarian University and the Laboratory of Hormonal Regulation Proteins of the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry named after Academicians M.M. Shemyakin and Yu.A. Ovchinnikov RAS. The libraries were prepared for sequencing using the Illumina Nextera DNA Flex Library Prep kit. Sequencing of the bacterial genomes of the selected samples was carried out on the Illumina MiSeq platform. The genome assembly was carried out using the UGENE Unipro program using the BWA algorithm selected by comparing the genome assemblies. Annotated reference genomes are available at the NCBI. For all four selected strains, the taxonomic position was specified. They are assigned to the species Lactobacillus salivarius, Lactobacillus curvatus, Lactobacillus parabuchneri and Lactobacillus heilongjiangensis. Isolated strains can serve as the basis for the creation of probiotic preparations for poultry farming.
