Dynamics of numbers of Colorado beetle on the colored varieties of potatoes

On the variety Purple Majesty, all the morphotypes of the pest were present. Phenoromorph № 6 prevailed (20%), then, according to prevalence, there were № 1, 2, 3 and 9 (from 12 to 16%). The number of other phenotypes ranged from 4 to 6%. On the Vitelotte variety, morphs № 4, 7 and 8 were completely absent. The phenomorphs № 2 and 3 - 23% were dominant in this case, followed by № 1, 5 and 6 (15%), and № 9 (8%). Variety Violet was more widely populated by the Colorado beetle with phenotypes № 1 and 9 (19%). Also imago with morphotypes 3 and 6 (14%), as well as №. 2, 5 and 7 (9%) were also distributed on the cultivar. The least of all on this sort was met phenomorph № 8, only 5%. The phenotypic structure of the population of the Colorado beetle on varieties Purple Majesty and Violet: similar to each other, but in both cases it differs from that on Vitelotte. Differences are proved at a significance level of 1%. The pest developed on the studied varieties in one generation. The first overwintered adults appeared in the phase of mass sprouted seed potatoes. The amount of pest varied from 0,10 to 1,44 exe./plant, depending on the variety. The maximum number of imago was recorded in the third decade of July and the first ten days of August. During this period on the Purple Majesty variety the pest number was 2,8-2,9, on the Violet - 2,7-3,7, and on Vitelotte - 3,2-3,3 exe./plant. The first larvae in the Purple Majesty and Violet plantings appeared in the second decade of June at the beginning of the budding (2,0 exe./plant), whereas on Vitelotte - in the first decade of July in the full budding stage (11,9 exe./plant). The maximum number of larvae was noted in the first ten days of July, when on the Purple Majesty variety pest number was 31,3 exe./plant, on Violet - 16,4, and on Vitelotte - 11,9 exe./plant. On average, for the growing season, the highest number of Colorado beetles (imago and larvae) was noted on Purple Majesty plants - 70,0 exe./plant. While the varieties of Violet and Vitelotte, this index was lower in 1,5-1,6 time (respectively, 46,8 and 43,0 exe./plant). On average, during the vegetation season, the degree of damage to the plants of the studied varieties was neigbor, so Vitelotte was damaged by 1,7 points, Purple by 1,6, and Purple Majesty by 1,4 points.
