Meat productivity of Hereford and Aberdin Angus calves

The aim of research was to study the efficiency of meat Hereford and Aberdeen Angus breeds calves. In the Russian Federation, provision of the population with own beef production is at insufficient level, in connection with the need to develop the specialized industry of meat cattle breeeding and increase the production of high-quality beef. To increase the production of high quality beef farms of the Krasnodar Territory breed and use intense livestock beef breeds imported from abroad. The main herd of beef cattle in Russia was imported from Western Europe and Australia, it is such breeds as: Hereford, Aberdeen Angus, Limousin, Charolais, Simmental, etc. Introduced animals of different breeds adapted to local conditions with unequal efficiency. Quantity and quality of the meat obtained after the slaughter of such animals is different. To establish the effectiveness of Hereford and Aberdeen Angus calves fattening which are the most numerous, feeding of slaughter animals was carried out followed by the study of their meat productivity after slaughter. Pre-slaughter live weight of Hereford steers was greater than that of their peers Aberdeen-Angus breed by 24.4 kg. The yield was 55.4 carcasses from Hereford steers and 54.2% from Aberdeen Angus counterparts. On the exit there were no significant differences, it was respectively 57.7 and 56.9% from Hereford steers and Aberdeen Angus breeds. According to the morphological structure of the experimental steers carcasses differences were established. Muscle tissue in Hereford steers carcasses turned 203.5 kg, or 79.7%, in carcasses of Aberdeen Angus peers the studied index was 189,9 kg, or 80.1%, the established differences are statistically reliable.
