Plasticity and stability of productivity of interspecies hybrids of potato of competitive variety testing

The development of domestic potato breeding requires the cultivation of varieties with high yield and the ability to form it in a wide range of environmental and geographical conditions. In order to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of breeding work in 2011-2015, the Leningrad Research Institute of Agriculture "Belogorka" evaluated the productivity of various potato hybrids. According to the results of the study, ecological changes in the productivity of the tested genotypes were detected, regardless of their genealogy, samples were identified with the greatest response to growing conditions. Stable genotypes with relatively constant behavior in different years were established: Lomonosovsky, 1604/16, 304/25. The most valuable for practical selection are the following promising hybrids: 5403/2 (95100/27 ½ 943/9), 1604/16 (Charodey ½ 943/9), 304/25 (Lasunak ½ 8889/3) and 3602/28 (9517/48 ½ 943/9). They correspond to the ecological model of the interaction of the genetic construction with specific environmental conditions. According to the results of the State testing of varieties 2015-2016, the hybrid 5403/2 named Eurasia is included in the register of breeding achievements approved for use in the North-West region of the Russian Federation in 2017. In our studies, the possibility of determining the plasticity and stability procedure was used. Quantitative characteristics for the comparative evaluation of the hybrid material in the kennel of competitive variety testing were confirmed.
