The results of ecological study of spring triticale varieties from the VIR world collection in the conditions of the Middle Priamurye region

In the difficult soil and climatic conditions of the Middle Priamurye region, a necessity has arisen to extend the biological diversity of cultivated spring grain crops. Of great interest in this case is the triticale - a hybrid of agricultural cereals for grain and forage purposes. For this purpose the study of spring triticale varieties from VIR world collection was conducted. As a result, were determined samples with a yield exceeding both standard variety Ukro by 6,4-9,2 centner per ha and spring wheat Khabarovchanka by 1,5-4,5 centner per ha: Ulyana, AC Certa, Victoria, Lana, Rovnya, Sandio. The overwhelming majority of tritcale samples showed high resistance to lodging in extremely unfavorable weather conditions. Compared to standard variety Ukro, significantly higher was the graininess in the varieties Merezhko’s Memory and Karmen. Some varieties exceeded the standard on the spike grain size by 13,5-32,4%. The most valuable sources for certain economically valuable traits were elected for further selection of new varieties, highly adaptive to the conditions of the Khabarovsk Kray. The crossbreeding was organized between triticale varieties: Ukro ½ Lana and Ukro ½ Karmen and two hybrid combinations were obtained. Three hybrids were acquired crossbreeding triticale with wheat: Ukro ½ Elizaveta, Ukro ½ DalGAU 1, Ukro ½ Primorskaya 108.
