Toxico-pharmacological characteristics of a new liquid probiotic аdditive

The research was carried out in the laboratory of the department of Biotechnology, Biochemistry and Biophysics of Kuban State Agrarian University, the aim of which was to study the toxicological and irritative action of a new probiotic. The object of the research is the probiotic additive Trilactokor which consists of three strains of lactic acid bacteria extracted from the gastrointestinal tract of quails. The identification of acute and chronic toxicity was carried out on non-linear white mice and mature outbred white rats according to GOST R ISO 10993-11-2009. The study of dermal-resorptive action and irritative property was carried out on albino rabbits and hamsters according to GOST R ISO 10993.10-99. The results of acute toxicity showed that the probiotic additive Trilactokor in researched concentrations did not cause the manifested toxicity. The study of chronic toxicity of the probiotic on non-linear white mice and mature outbred white rats, and as well as the evaluation of some morphological indexes of blood of experimental animals did not reveal the toxic action of the present biological preparation on the organism of laboratory animals. The number of erythrocytes in blood was more by - 2,6-7,2% in experimental groups. The live weight of laboratory animals was higher by 3,8-9,1%. Results of cutaneous applications showed that in the course of the experiment the local reddening was not revealed in laboratory albino rabbits, signs of hypersensitivity, swelling, inflammation, formation of erythema and skin edema skin were absent. When conducting the conjunctive sample to albino rabbits it was found that the introduction of probiotic additives caused a slight reddening of mucosa, which disappeared in a few minutes. The study of additional irritative property in hamsters showed that the mucosa of cheek pouches with two sides in all experimental groups, independently on the dose of the biological preparation was without reddening and swellings. In all experiments, the index of irritative action was equal to zero.
