The use of microbiological inoculants for ensiling green mass of Triticale (X Triticosecale Wittm. Exa. Camus)

The study is aimed at studying the effect of two microbiological inoculants on the quality of triticale (X Triticosecale Wittm. exA. Camus) green mass silage. Vegetable raw materials were crushed, treated with a preservative and placed in laboratory containers with a volume of 0,5 l for ensiling. In the process of ensiling, the release of fermentation gases were monitored daily. 40 days after ensiling, pH, content of organic acids and nutrients were determined in the resulting silos according to standard methods. All forage products obtained as a result of ensiling corresponded to haylage in terms of DM content and had a yellow-green color, non-staining texture with a fruity smell without signs of mold. The most intense fermentation occurred in the sample when using preparation No. 2. The mass fraction of lactic acid in haylage harvested with the addition of biological inoculant No. 1 was 7,10% higher than in the control. The best preservation of DM and CP was noted in samples prepared using biological preservatives. It was revealed that in all obtained haylage as a result of ensiling there was a decrease in the content of simple carbohydrates, including sugar by 3,99% in control, by 5,50% when using preparation No. 1, and by 3,61% when using preparation No. 2 compared to its content in the original raw material. In general, the use of microbiological preparations improved the quality of the fermentation process and contributed to the preservation of nutrients.
