Studying the interrelations of biochemical indicators and adaptability to stressors of the winter-spring period for forms of the genus Prunus L

Plant resistance to stressors of various origins is due to complex and diverse physiological and biochemical processes that depend both on the genotype and on the stages of plant ontogenesis. The aim of the research was to search for biochemical indicators associated with plant resistance to stressors of the winter-spring period, which also differ in experimental availability in the determination. This is an important and topical line of research necessary for assessing the adaptability of plant genotypes. The concentrations of organic acids, phenolic compounds, ascorbic acid, metal ions were studied, which are easily determined using the Kapel-104T system in alcoholic extracts of plant materials. The studies took place during the dormant period on different breeds of stone fruit crops. Thanks to the anatomical and morphological studies, field and laboratory studies, model objects were identified that had a clear response to stress in certain periods of plant dormancy. It was revealed that in the tissues of one-year growth in genotypes that go into the first phase of organic dormancy earlier and show resistance to early winter frosts (Ι component of winter hardiness), a higher content of potassium, caffeic and succinic acids and a lower content of magnesium were noted than in unstable ones. Under the conditions of January, when temperatures dropped to -24оC, the effect of the listed substances on resistance was studied: it was noted that all forms adaptive to low temperatures during this period (the II component of winter hardiness) had a higher content of succinic acid in the tissues. Breed-specificity was also noted. In spring, only sweet cherry revealed indicators associated with resistance (IV component of winter hardiness) - these are potassium, magnesium, calcium, chlorogenic acid. Of the studied crops, cherry is the most sensitive to low negative temperatures in March. The data obtained will allow developing methods for assessing the adaptability of stone fruit crops to stressors of the winter-spring period.
Keywords: Organic acids, phenolic compounds, metal cations, stressors of the winter-spring period, phases of the dormant period, winter hardiness, abiotic environmental factors.
