Analysis of the genealogical structure of the breeding herd of Holstein cattle at Agricultural Farm named after Ilyich

The analysis of the genealogical structure of the pedigree herd of purebred cattle of the Holstein breed of black-and-white suit has been conducted at Agricultural Farm named after Ilyich which is in the Vyselkovsky district of the Krasnodar Territory. The herd is characterized by high milk yield. So for 2020, the average milk yield was 10338 kg of milk with a content of 3.80% fat and 3.34% protein. The output of calves from 100 cows and heifers is 83 heads. The characteristic features of this breed, bred in the production conditions of Russia, are low reproductive capacity and low duration of productive use, which, in our opinion, have become modern breed characteristics. Considering the exceptionally high milk production of the Holstein breed, these two traits put milk producers and especially livestock breeders in a difficult position in matters of herd repair and reproduction. An important element that contributes to increasing the effectiveness of breeding and selection work is the analysis of the origin of the brood stock. So, 785 heads of the brood stock, attributed to the Wis Burke Ideal 1011415 line, come from 233 breeding bulls, and 706 heads of the Montwick Chieftain 95679 line from 236 bulls. Thus, all the breeding stock of the herd - 1632 heads come from 511 breeding bulls, which on average is 3.2 queens from one bull, and this, in turn, significantly affects the possibility of a reliable assessment of bulls by the origin and quality of offspring, and this entails difficulties in organizing the planning of selection and selection of breeding stock.
