Structural and functional analysis and efficiency of the sugar beet seed production system

Current problems of domestic sugar beet selection and seed production are disclosed, including the material and technical base underdevelopment, low innovative activity of domestic breeding centers and seed farms, and the insufficient level of their state support, which resuts in the high import dependence of our country on the of this Western breeding crop seeds. A structural diagram of the sugar beet seed production system has been developed; its constituent blocks of participating entities, state-legal, regulatory and technical-technological support requiring innovative transformation are highlighted. The necessity of the practice-oriented personnel professional training system improvement in the field of selection and seed production with the active assistance of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation is substantiated. A comparative economic analysis of the main technologies for the production of sugar beet seeds, including an innovative stucking technology for the cultivation of uterine sugar beet root crops, has been carried out. The priority directions of improvement of domestic breeding work, including the creation of sugar beet varieties and hybrids with a high sugar yield, adapted to the soil and climatic conditions of the regions of their cultivation, are determined.
