Effect of biologically active substances of the microscopic fungus on the germinating power of legumes

The properties of microorganisms to form phytohormones and hormone-like substances along with other biologically active compounds - amino acids, vitamins, antibiotics, organic acids - is widely used in the creation of microbiological preparations. In laboratory conditions, experiments were conducted to determine the effect of the culture fluid of the microscopic fungus Hypomyces odoratus VKPM F-242 on the germination of legume seeds. In the experiments pea seeds of the Chishminsky-75 variety, soybean of the Soyer-5 variety and alfalfa Krasnokudskaya 4009 were used. The results showed: while the 0.1% culture fluid solution has a stimulating effect on the germination power and the average length of alfalfa roots, this being due to the presence of the fungus of such phytohormones as auxins and gibberellins in the culture medium. The microscopic fungus Hypomyces odoratus, previously known as a producer of plant protection products against phytopathogenic microorganisms, has a stimulating effect on plant growth processes. Analysis of the data obtained by means of biotests gives grounds to indirectly judge of the presence of 0.05 mg/l indolylacetic acid and 0.01 mg/l gibberellins in the culture fluid. The results obtained may be of scientific and practical interest as an environmentally friendly biologically active means of plant vital activity control.
