Morphological and cultural properties and pathogenicity of the Pyricularia oryzae Cav. in districted rice varieties

The work studied the diversity of the causative agent of pyriculariosis in zoned rice varieties by morphological and cultural characteristics. Experimental data were obtained on the genotyping of the Krasnodar population of the causative agent of pyriculariosis. 12 fungal strains with different sporulating ability collected in rice-growing farms of the Krasnodar Territory were isolated and purified; 4 pathogen strains with high sporulation and various morphological and cultural characters were stabilized. The main factors determining the intensive development of pyriculariosis are the genetic vulnerability of agrobiocenosis, the high aggressiveness of pathogens and the deficiency of highly effective fungicides. Rice varieties zoned in the region are not resistant to pyriculariosis. Basically, they are characterized as medium resistant and susceptible. It is relevant to continuously search for resistance donors, to determine the relationship of the parasite and the host plant, and in the aggregate to create high-yielding and pathogen-immune varieties. The genetic diversity of populations is created mainly due to mutations and migration of clones. Disputes serve for the mass distribution of fungi in nature. Environmental factors have a significant effect on the ratio of genotypes in populations. Therefore, populations with different morphological and cultural characters will be formed in different ecological zones.
