Growing milk breeds in the conditions of intensive and semi-intensive technology

In the Krasnodar region, to meet the needs of the population in beef, a branch of beef cattle breeding is created. Due to the fact that in the region there is not enough fattening livestock of meat breeds, then for fattening they grow and use steers of dairy and combined breeds. To obtain beef, in dairy cattle fattening calves of dairy cattle breeds. In order to increase beef production due to the fattening of dairy bulls and the combined direction of productivity, along with an increase in the fattened livestock of animals, it is necessary to introduce intensive cultivation. Indicators of the level of intensity of cultivation and fattening of young cattle are such as: the value of the average daily increments, the age of reaching the maximum live weight and the cost of feed and labor per unit of production. The purpose of this work was a comparative study of the growth of young Holstein and black-and-white breeds up to 6 months of age by intensive and semi-intensive technology. The average daily increments of Holstein bulls for the period of the experiment amounted to 820.6 g, the analogues of the black-mottled breed -796.1 g, the excess is 24.5 g in favor of the bulls of the first group. The obtained data allow us to conclude that with intensive cultivation of dairy bulls, we received from them higher average daily gains and live weight.
Keywords: Holstein breed, black-motley breed, bull-calves, rearing, average daily growths, live weight
