Modulating effects of biologically active substances in the posterium paresis in cows

The therapeutic efficacy of biologically active substances was studied with a typical course of postpartum paresis in cows. Application of the combined use of calcium chloride, magnesium chloride, magnesium water, nipagin, glucose and distilled water is effective for dairy cows in coma. The causes of postpartum paresis in cows are very diverse. Research results indicate that a particularly close relationship exists when the ratio of organic and mineral substances is not observed in feeding animals. The impairment of mineral metabolism is caused by a change in the function of the parathyroid glands, the pituitary gland, and usually begins in the second half of pregnancy when the fetal skeleton is strongly formed. According to a number of authors, during maternity paresis, blood glucose decreases sharply due to an increased activity of the pancreas, in which, as a result of intensive blood flow, a high amount of insulin is produced. In the absence of timely treatment with postpartum paresis, there is a high mortality of animals. In addition, some medical procedures used in this disease contribute to the development of mastitis and reduced productivity. The results of the research indicate that the proposed method for the treatment of cows with hypocalcemia has a high therapeutic efficacy, while it eliminates the use of pumping air into the udder and helps prevent mastitis in cows.
