Methodological features of assessing the economic efficiency of the transition to organic agriculture technologies

The methodological features of assessing the economic efficiency of the transition of producers to organic agriculture technologies were identified and justified, including the determination of the need for investments in the implementation of such projects and the size of the expected annual economic effect generated by them. It has been established that the economic justification of the feasibility of producing organic products in a specific agricultural organization must be carried out in relation to the entire system of organic crop rotation being formed, and not to its individual crops. It is proposed to take into account the lost profits of producers as a result of removing land plots from the existing economic turnover for organizing of organic production as a special type of investment. It was determined that the economic effect of the transition of producers to organic farming technologies is due to the price premiums on organic products existing in food markets, additional government support for organic production, as well as saving production costs as a result of the complete abandonment of the use of chemical materials. The expected changes in the structure of production resources of agricultural organizations that are transitioning to organic farming technologies are established. The main sources of uncertainty and risk in organic agriculture and methodological features of a quantitative assessment of their level are substantiated. The analysis of the main methods for assessing the riskiness of investment projects is carried out and recommendations for their use in relation to organic agriculture are proposed.
