Improvement of the diagnosis of cattle tuberculosis

In the complex of methods proposed for the diagnosis of tuberculosis, there is not a single perfect one, with indisputable effectiveness; therefore it is necessary to combine all existing ones. The intravenous method of tuberculin administering was subjected tostudy using animals that are in different states with respect to tuberculosis. The study of 129 heads aged 2 to 7 years found the absence of temperature reactions to tuberculin in healthy animals and clinically pronounced changes, toxicosis, pulse and respiration. Low diagnostic significance of the test specimen on animals (186 heads) infected with non-tubercular acid-resistant mycobacteria was noted. A thermal reaction of up to 9 hours was revealed in animals with tuberculosis. In this category of animals, a direct link has been established between the introduction of tuberculin and increased respiration, pulse, convulsive contractions of the muscles of the croup and scapular region, as well as frothy salivation from the oral cavity and anorexia. According to the results of the study, the intravenous method is of interest in the diagnosis of tuberculosis in disadvantaged farms with a limited degree of distress. In this category of farms, in the group of animals that do not respond to the intradermal administration of tuberculin it was possible to detect pathoanatomical pronounced tuberculosis in 66,6% of the animals via the intravenous method. In studies, the results of intravenous tests coincided with serological (RSK) ones in more than 70% of cases. Besides, the intravenous method of research can be successfully used to differentiate nonspecific reactions in farms with a limited number of animals (SEC, KFH, personal subsidiary farms, etc.).
