New cultivars of nectarine, promising for canning

The article presents the results of the study of the pomologic, technological qualities and chemical composition of the fruit of seven new varieties of nectarine (Prunus persica var. nucipersica (Suckow) C.K. Schneid.) of the selection of the Nikitsky Botanical Garden - the National Science Center (Ametist, Evpatorijskij, Krymchanin, Krymcuht, Neugasimyj, Nikitskij 85, Ishun'skij). The varieties are promising for large-fruited breeding (Krymchanin and Krymcuht - weight of fruits from 150 to 260 g), improvement of fruit taste (Ametist, Krymchanin and Neugasimyj - tasting rating - 4,7-4,8 points). It was noted that all studied varieties had a yellow pulp of fibrous consistency and differed in a well-separated bone (except for Nikitskij 85). According to the chemical composition of fresh fruits, new varieties of selection of the Nikitsky Botanical Garden are at the level of the best world varieties of nectarine. According to the content of dry substances, the Ishun'skij variety (19%) was distinguished, the tarted acids were Krymchanin (0.9%), the sugar content was Ishun'skij (16.3%), ascorbic acid - Nikitskij 85 (20.3 mg/100 g).The tasting evaluation of the processed products (compote, jam and candied fruits) showed that the best varieties for the production of compotes are Krymcuht and Krymchanin (degustation assessment - 4.8 and 4.9 points, respectively), for jam production - Ishun'skij, Krymchanin and Neugasimyj - 4.7 and 4.8 points), and for the production of candied fruits - Ametist, Evpatorijskij and Krychchanin(tasting score - 4.6 and 4.7 points). Thus, it can be concluded that the new varieties of nectarine selection of NBS-NSC have a complex of economically valuable characteristics and are promising for technological processing.
