Investigation of elastic cultivator’s racks

The cultivation paws on elastic racks when working have a deviation from the prescribed treatment depth 10-15% more than with the hard suspension and do not retain the optimal geometry of cutting. With increasing of speed and depth of processing deviation of the paw from a predetermined depth of processing increases, agrotechnical requirements of seedbed preparation are violated. To ensure the quality and effectiveness of the combined cultivator equipped with elastic S-shaped racks, it is necessary to change the rigidity of the racks. The purpose of the study is surface tillage quality improvement. To determine the movement of the paw sock on the elastic rack computer program A.R.M. was used, the principle of wich is based on the finite element method. Displacement and mode shapes of the rack depending on load and modifications of the free ends pinching points of the elastic rack were identified. For validation of the S-shaped rack automated calculation data we have planned an experiment on static loading racks, wich confirmed the correctness of the automated calculation of the S-shaped rack. With its help we managed to conduct a simulation of the traction resistance and to obtain high-quality perfomance to select the location and type of execution of a hardness regulator. The results of the experiments show that by changing the position of the point of jamming and reducing the length of the free end of the strut the rigidity increases and the movement of the pawsock under the action of the applied load decreases. Introduction of the hardness regulator into the rack design allows its application on soils in a wide range of changes in humidity and hardness with the implementation of agrotechnical requirements.
