Efficiency of the benzoic and formic acids in the feeding of young pigs

Ensuring sustainable rates of growth and optimizing feed use efficiency are the key requirements for economic success. The use of organic acids in rations for pigs of all ages has demonstrated its effectiveness. The aim of the work was to study the effect of organic acids in pig rations during the period of growing on their productive qualities. During the research, the standard zootechnical methods and methodic were used. Taking into account the age, live weight and growth intensity, two groups of piglets (one control and one experimental) of the Canadian selection of "GENESUS" with 150 heads were formed by the method of paranalogists. In the course of the experiment, the daily average increments, and consumption of feed were taken into account, the digestibility of the nutrients of the diet, the balance of nitrogen, calcium and phosphorus in the body of pigs were studied. It has been proved that introduction of Veleguard AS feed into the general diet of pigs promoted increase of live weight, better digestibility of nutrients, decreased feed conversion and increased safety. The carried out calculation of economic efficiency has conclusively shown that the addition of Veleguard AS to the composition of fodder SK-3,5 and SK-4 within 45 days after weaning pigs from sows and in subsequent monitoring at a dosage of 0.5% is economically justified method to increasing the productivity and safety of young pigs.
