Statistical Analysis of the number and structure of the population of Russia and the Krasnodar Territory

The dynamics of the population change in the Russian Federation for 2001-2017 was analyzed. The size of the annual population reduction (450 thousand people) in the country in 2001-2009 and its growth in 2010-2017 was determined with and without information for the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol (557 and 300 thousand people respectively). An econometric model was developed that most accurately describes the trend of population change. The projected values of this indicator for 2020 were determined using the regression equation and the extrapolation method of demographic forecasting. The authors carried out a comparative analysis of the results obtained and official statistical information. The population structure of the country and the Krasnodar Territory was studied on the basis of urban and rural settlements. The level of urbanization is expected to gradually increase. The age and nationality composition of the population in the country and the region was analyzed. The distribution of the population in the Russian Federation was characterized according to the level of education. The research justifies the importance of further development of State Family Policy programs.
