Sort resources of winter wheat in the Crimea

Since the Republic of Crimea integrated into the legislative and legal environment of Russian Federation in grain production, a particular problem arose relating to the switching to the cultivation of winter wheat varieties included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements Permitted for Use in the Russian Federation by means of involving in the agrarian production new, highly productive varieties permitted for cultivation in IV (North-Caucasian) region. The analysis of the current situation after strain changing in the Republic is given in the article. The data based on varietal and reproductive qualities of winter wheat grown in agricultural enterprises and provided by the District Agricultural Offices of the Republic of Crimea served as a material for research. Comparative assessment of the cultivated winter wheat varieties based on the reproductive qualities, the area occupied by the main varieties, the duration of the variety presence in the State Register of Breeding Achievements Permitted for Use, as well as the specific weight of the leading originating institutions in the wheat wedge of the Crimea is highlighted in the article. The number of varieties sown for the harvest of 2017 exceeded 90 names. The maximum area of winter wheat is still occupied by varieties of both Selective Genetics Institute (27,1%) and those that were created in co-authorship with the Stavropol Scientific Research Institute of Agriculture (21,5%). Analysis of the reproduction composition of winter wheat showed that 93% of crops is sown with reproduction seeds, 36% of which is occupied by third and subsequent reproductions. 26% of the varieties sown for the harvest of 2017 are in the Register for more than 10 years Therefore, further strain changing is a reserve for increasing the productivity of winter wheat in the Crimea.
