Сharacteristics of immunobiological responsiveness in the organism of colibaсillosis affected calves

As a result of our research E. coli pathogen strain of serovar O20 was found in the calf cadaver pathological material. Colibacillosis affected calves showed a definite decrease in the number of red blood cells by 28%, hemoglobin levels by 18%, segmentonuclear neutrophils - 1,5 times, the number of lymphocytes by 11%, and in contrast the increase in the number of leukocytes - 1,8 times, stab neutrophils - 1,9 times. In addition, the percentage of active neutrophils decreased by 17%, the digestive capacity of neutrophilic granulocytes decreased by 13%, and in contrast the absorbing capacity of neutrophilic granulocytes increased 2 times. The number of T-lymphocytes definitely decreased by 12%, B-lymphocytes by 9% and in contrast NK-lymphocytes increased 2,2 times. It was established that the timely use of drugs according to the scheme developed by us had a positive impact on the immunity of colibacillosis affected calves, promoted the increase of segmentonuclear neutrophils 1,6 times, the digestive capacity of neutrophilic granulocytes by 14%, T-lymphocytes and B-lymphocytes by 14% and by 13% respectively, and in contrast the decrease in NK-lymphocytes 2,3 times on introduction of the pathogenic agent into the body, which indicates adaptive-compensatory mechanisms during the critical period for the organism. To prevent dehydration of the affected calf organism it is necessary to use Ringer-Lock solution and antibiotic Enroksil 5%, which contribute to the eradication of the pathogen, neutralization of both exo- and endotoxins. The complex of vitamins, microelements and amino acids, the components of Vitam and probiotic Bifitrilac MK, promotes the normalization of the intestinal microflora, the use of immunostimulant Immunofan promotes the increase of natural immunity and prevents the death of calves, and the subsequent use of the vaccine Coli-Vac promotes the development of specific immunity. The use of complex treatment in order to prevent the death of animals and the spread of the disease is economically expedient. The payback of the medical and prophylactic measures in case of colibacillosis was 4,55 rubles per one ruble of costs.
