Dynamics of adaptive processes highly cattle imported beef in Yakutia

To study the question of acclimatization, growth and development of young animals received from Hereford cows in the North-East of Russia (Yakutia) research was made to study the development of adaptive processes in animals with age. Morphological, physiological, biochemical and immunological parameters of peripheral blood were studied. The goal was to investigate the possibility of adaptation of imported high-yielding Hereford cattle in the climatic conditions of the North-East of Russia. The morphological study of peripheral blood showed that number of red blood cells corresponds to physiological norms for the species. There was a significant decrease in hemoglobin concentration of 25,5% below the physiological norm which was proved statistically. The level of the number of leukocytes in the blood of the animals corresponds to normative seasonal values; in the spring the relative leukocytosis is observed due to increasing of the number of neutrophils; there are high levels of phagocytic activity in the summer period - 91,6%, higher than the normal of 17%. The specific activity of serum enzymes in animals varies dynamically due to seasonal changes in feeding schedules, conditions and other environmental factors. So, in the fall season there comes a significant increase in aspartate aminotransferase activity proved statistically, increase of activity of alkaline phosphatase, total creatine kinase and gamma-glutamyl transferase. Thus, in the extreme climatic conditions of Yakutia, the adaptation of imported high-yielding Hereford cattle proceeds very ambiguously. The farm offspring has some lag in growth and development, as a result of changes in feeding rations and its imbalance. Animals consume large amounts of dense nutrient-poor roughage (29%) with low levels of metabolized energy (9,1 MJ). Immunological status of imported highly productive livestock shows very intense level of physiological functioning of all body systems which characterises the suppression of adaptive processes that do not provide a sufficiently high level of adaptation to environmental conditions. In these conditions the realization of highly productive breeds of animals with hereditary genetic information becomes difficult.
