Biochemical aspects the formation of the protective response on plant essential oil rose on the effect of low temperatures

Most of the crops of essential oil plants in the Crimea experience the impact of adverse factors (insufficient moisture content, influence of low and high temperature), which leads to a decrease in their yielding capacity and death of the plant. Essential oil rose is among the most valuable crops, its products are always in high demand on the world market. Cultivated varieties of essential oil rose in the Crimea - Lan, Lada, Raduga have sufficiently high potential yielding capacity, but in conditions of low (below 200C) temperatures, especially in case of insufficient snow cover, as well as under the effect of late spring frosts cannot form a potentially high yield of flowers determinated by the genotype. The study of the accumulation of compounds involved in the formation of the protective plant response to the action of adverse temperature factors in the essential oil rose shoots in the phases of deep rest and output from the rest was carried out for five years. Free proline, soluble carbohydrates, ascorbic acid, phenolic compounds were selected as biochemical markers of the protective response manifestation. It was shown that essential oil rose respond to adverse effects of temperature changes by changing the level of accumulation of protection compounds: free praline content was 2-3 times increased, carbohydrates, ascorbic acid, and phenolic compounds - 1,5 times. Among the studied breeding material according to the level of the protective compounds accumulation varieties of Deer, Lan, White stood out.
